Customer Reviews

It Works! Review by
If you can afford it, get it. I needed reliable power at my place and less than 48 hrs of having it installed the power went out and the Generac did what it does. It worked but im sure the neighbours would not want it to go on throughout the night. Its a little loud but its a pleasing buzz. Satisfaction more than anything I guess.

Product Q&A

Ask Us a Question
  • What is the difference between Type A and Type B?

The difference is that Type A is an easier and quicker install and can be performed by any certified Gas A installer. Type B is a harder install and is required to be signed off on by a Type B gas installer. The advantage of an end user purchasing a Type A generator is that the install process will be easier, faster and more cost effective.

  • What is type A installation?

Domestic and light commercial appliances that have an approval badge from the Australian Gas Association (AGA) are Type A appliances.

  • I wanted to know if any of your generators run absolutely quiet? Can this be retrofit in older high rise buildings on the balcony. Is gas available to homes and high rise buildings. In Canada gas is standard but in Australia not so.

    Hi Doug,

No generators we sell are completely silent.

The Generac generators would probably not be ideal on a hi rise balcony due to installation requirements.

Gas availabiltiy really depends on your location.

  • The Generac 20KVA 3 phase output voltage is 380V. The Australian requirement is 415V. Is the generator suitable for Australia?

Hi There, We can confirm this unit if suitable for Australia. These Generac Gas Generator TYPE A is approved in all Australian states.

    Regards,

  • How long can the 20kva unit run for? can it be used in a stand alone location?

    Hi There,

Generac do not provide a specified run time. It would be based on the amount of availble gas to supply the generator.

These generators are only designed for backup applications. They are not designed for standalone operation.

  • HI, is a single phase unit able to be connected to a 3 phase home to provide backup to a few essential circuits?

    Hi There,

In most instances this should be okay. It would always be best to have an electrician look at your meter box to confirm if this can be done in your particular case.

  • Thanks for answerAnother question.1. Where in QLD can U get gas and how much does it cost to install2 . The general 20 Kia how long does it run and supply electricity by that how much would it cost per day to run?3. Can u run an entire 3 bed house inc

    Hi There,

Sorry we are not gas installers so we do not have any information around the cost of gas and installation.

Fuel Consumption LPG, litres/hrFull Load: 11.11 / Half Load: 7.16

How much you can run will be determined by the appliances in the premises. You will probably require an electrician to assist in sizing.

  • Can a three phase (20kva) unit be integrated seamlessly into a single phase household?

    Hi There

I would recommend consulting an electrician, however you would most likely require a single phase generator to power your single phase home.

    Kind Regards

  • Does this come with a starter battery?

Yes, it is included in the price of the generator.

  • Does this come with a type A gas train?

Yes, when ordering, we will enquire as to whether an LPG or NG train is required for the install.
